KAMAT - Pumpen GmbH & Co. KG

High pressure technology since 1974 – Company history

KAMAT's history starts with the foundation of the Myers Europee GmbH, a subsidiary of the Americann pump manufacturer Myers, in 1974. In 1979, Karl J. Sprakel, the managing director at that time, took over through a management-buy-out. 1982 the acquisition of Hochdruckapparatebau Witten that was founded in 1960 followed. One year later, both companies merged to KAMAT Pumpen GmbH & Co. KG. The new administration and factory facilities were built in Witten in 1984.

In 1994 KAMAT furthered its competencies in the field of water technology through cooperation with the Metzingen-based Lechler GmbH. Together KAMAT and Lechler GmbH developed a water-mist extinguishing system. FOGTEC Brandschutz GmbHwas founded to produce and distribute this technological product.

Today, KAMAT with its 90 employees at the plant in Witten, are successfully dedicated to its core competency: high pressure technology. 80% of the products are directly distributed internationally.
