Our mobile unit, the K100-3 pump, is a small powerhouse in water jetting technology and ideally suited for industrial cleaning work with high-pressure water. Weighing just 25 kg, it is extremely compact and mobile. It is ideal for use in jetting, paint stripping, rust removal and graffiti removal. The K100-3 is often used as a complete mobile unit including electric, diesel or petrol drive and control unit.

Industrial pressure washing with water is an effective method for removing stubborn dirt from various surfaces. There are four key factors that play a decisive role here: flow rate, pump pressure, spray distance and spray angle. We will take a closer look at these factors in this article and explain how they influence the effectiveness of the pressure washer.

Influencing factors and their importance for selecting the right pressure washer

Flow rate: The flow rate of the pressure washer determines the amount of water that is delivered per unit of time. A higher flow rate leads to a rapid increase in the impact pressure. It also makes it easier to remove the dirt, as less atomisation takes place at a greater distance. However, it is important to adjust the flow rate according to the soiling and the surface to be cleaned.
Pump pressure: The pump pressure determines the speed at which the water is ejected from the pressure washer. It is increased by a higher flow rate while maintaining the same tool. A higher pump pressure leads to a stronger impact force of the water jet on the surface. This impact impulse is crucial for effective cleaning. The cleaning effect can be controlled precisely by adjusting the pump pressure.
Spray distance: The spray distance refers to the distance between the high-pressure nozzle and the surface to be cleaned. A recommended spray distance is between 10 and 30 cm. It is important to adjust the distance accordingly, as the cleaning impulse decreases rapidly with a greater distance. A spray distance that is too small can cause damage, while a distance that is too large can reduce the cleaning performance.
Spray angle: The spray angle of the water jet also has an influence on the cleaning effect. The spray angle should be adjusted depending on the degree of soiling. Stubborn soiling requires an angle of 0-25°, medium soiling 25-50° and light soiling 50-80°. Choosing the right spray angle will improve cleaning efficiency.
